Ramangs Cocoa Development Project (RCDP)
About RCDP:
- A community-based agribusiness project in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
- Registered with the PNG Investment Promotion Authority (Certificate #6 - 325907).
- Active in rural cocoa investment since 2017.
Our Reach:
- Working with 710 smallholder farmers (family households).
- Organized into 15 cluster groups.
- Managing 227 hectares of farmland.
Our Mission:
- Promote sustainable and inclusive economic development.
- Enhance food security and nutrition for rural cocoa farmers.
- Foster innovation, gender participation, and effective partnerships.
Key Achievements:
- Since 2020, partnered with the FAO EU-STREIT PNG Programme.
- 87 lead farmers from 15 clusters trained in:
- Integrated Disease and Pest Management
- Block Management
- Bud crafting, budding, and cocoa nursery practices
- General pruning and block maintenance
- Provided with essential nursery materials and equipment.
- Participated in exposure and interaction programs with other farmers.
- FAO and local partners have positively impacted 80% of family farms, promoting a culture of savings and improved farming practices.
