About RCDP:

  • A community-based agribusiness project in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
  • Registered with the PNG Investment Promotion Authority (Certificate #6 - 325907).
  • Active in rural cocoa investment since 2017.

Our Reach:

  • Working with 710 smallholder farmers (family households).
  • Organized into 15 cluster groups.
  • Managing 227 hectares of farmland.

Our Mission:

  • Promote sustainable and inclusive economic development.
  • Enhance food security and nutrition for rural cocoa farmers.
  • Foster innovation, gender participation, and effective partnerships.

Key Achievements:

  • Since 2020, partnered with the FAO EU-STREIT PNG Programme.
  • 87 lead farmers from 15 clusters trained in:
    • Integrated Disease and Pest Management
    • Block Management
    • Bud crafting, budding, and cocoa nursery practices
    • General pruning and block maintenance
  • Provided with essential nursery materials and equipment.
  • Participated in exposure and interaction programs with other farmers.
  • FAO and local partners have positively impacted 80% of family farms, promoting a culture of savings and improved farming practices.
